It’s a little dusty around here…

So I finally decided to sit down and do some actual work on my website. Let me take that back. I finally actually had some time to do some work on my website lol. I usually always find time to keep all the back end stuff updated server side and all that. But it’s been quite some time since I’ve actually sat down and looked at my website to see what’s out of date as far as content and pages go. And boy, lemme tell you it was quite out of date. I deleted a BUNCH of stuff that didn’t even work anymore because I pretty much copy and pasted it from when I was trying to run “ProbablyBlogging.com”. Ya… About that.
I hadn’t even messed with the theme much really to be honest. It wasn’t until I set up a blog for my daughter that I realized I haven’t really touched mine in so long. I’ve been so busy with TDM that I haven’t touched mine. Between work, and trying to get Two Dudes BBS back up and running, I haven’t really had much time for anything else.

I’ve been on vacation all this week as well. It’s been busy but not busy. I’ll make another post about it soon. Probably Sunday. I’m planning on being on the computer most of the day with my buddy. I’ll probably get some pics and all that stuff posted too.

Maybe… If I don’t forget anyways.

SSR Show 7/15/17!

So I decided to do a random show tonight! We hung out in Star Trek Online at the Risa resort at the dance floor. We had a lively crowd which was composed of Zavress, PhreakBee, Deva, Nocturn, Sahara, Jeshaa, Suzo, Summer, Peggy, Keku, Ann Tanna, The Doctor, and many others who were popping in and out. The show started as a Pop show, but quickly turned into a Hip Hop request show. We had a lot of fun! The show of course started out with me forgetting to turn my mic on, so for about 30-45 seconds there was no me on air, just my talky music. I figured that out quickly thanks to Bee pointing it out. Once that mistake was fixed everything was pretty smooth from there on out. Save of course for my usual stuttering on air lol.

So… Like… I’m Married and stuff.

SOOOO…. I’m married. On July 31st of 2016, I was able to marry the girl of my dreams. A

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Spalding

beautiful, caring, sensitive, compassionate woman named Shereen. We had a very small ceremony and reception. Only our immediate families were invited, so mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters. It was a very very quick ceremony that was presided over by my Aunt. Who, by the way, along with her freshly wedded spouse, did an amazing job on our little mini reception after the ceremony. One thousand thanks to you both for your help, hospitality, generosity, and graciousness.
After the ceremony we had a lovely brunch that was cooked by “T”. It consisted of a waffle bar (which in of itself consisted of fresh made waffles, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, several jams, peanut butter, chocolate chips, whip cream, syrups, and probably some other things i’m forgetting), cheesy baked potatoes, Kielbasa, several different Quiches, mimosas, a
nd probably some other things that I’m forgetting. Instead of the standard wedding cake, we decided to be a lil off kilter (as if you couldn’t tell our whole wedding was by my outfit), and went with cupcakes. And let me tell you. These cupcakes were amazing. I’ve never seen “Gourmet” Cupcakes like these before. You can check them out for yourself at The Salted Cupcake. They’re also on Facebook at The Salted Cupcake. Best cupcakes I’ve had in quite some time. And the lady was super nice as well.

After the wedding, we gathered some things and headed out for a very mini honeymoon. We decided to stay a couple nights downtown at the Courtyard Marriott. We stayed there Sunday night and Monday night. We didn’t really do much relaxing over the course of the two days except for maybe Monday. We slept in until like 2pm! Which, for Shereen, is par for the course, but for me, that’s the most I’ve been able to sleep in, in months. We went and saw a movie, Central Intelligence Agency.
That was pretty funny. We also ran some errands to get Shereen’s drivers license renewed and some other stuff. We also visited the Musical Fountain in Grand Haven. It’d been several years since I’d been out there and her and I had been wanting to go for awhile. That was a very nice time and Grand Haven just has that small town friendly feeling to it. All in all though, it was a very relaxing two days.

Anyways, that’s the latest and greatest. I’m a husband. I have a wife. And I love her.

Wedding Day is coming, Star Trek Beyond, Justice League, and More!

I posted something on my facebook the other day, but i figured I should probably put it here as well, just in case.

As our wedding day rapidly approaches, we’ve been getting more and more questions about our ceremony and reception. Initially we had planned to have a bigger reception, but we’ve decided to have a very small ceremony and reception that includes our immediate family members only. Star Trek Beyond. What a movie. For me it was easily the best of the 3 latest Star Trek movies. I thought the story line was solid, the characters were solid, and the CGI was amazing. It was nice to see some of JJ’s old friends with cameos, like Greg Grunberg who was in Lost, and in Hero’s. I think particularly touching was the send off that Spock / Leonard Nimoy received. I can honestly say I was misty eyed several times when they were paying tribute. There was also “just enough” one liners and funny cracks throughout the movie to sate the average Trekkie i felt. I might go back to see it again in 3D, as several of the sequences looked pretty amazing. I was, however, disapointed in the trailers that played before the movie. Nothing of any real interest really. Besides Jason Bourne.

The 2nd trailer for Dr Strange came out, and judging from the added sequences, this is looking to be a pretty good movie. The first trailer was pretty barren from any of the “magic”. This one, not so much.

The trailer for Justice League also came out today, and that also looks to be promising. I just hope they don’t murder too much of the movie to make the “critics” happy. I, along with 90% of my friends felt like Batman Vs Superman was a good movie. Did it have its issues? Sure, but most movies always have something. It’s like my friend complaining about the story line in Transformers. Its like, Bro… Don’t go to Transformers expecting to see “Gone With The Wind.” You go to transformers to see giant Robots fighting. Duh.

Lastly, the Wonder Woman trailer finally came out as well. As you have probably guessed, I’ve found it to be of enough awesomeness, to have made it into the magical world of my blog.

Other than that, I’ve just used my Level 90 Boost from World of Warcraft to give myself a Mage. ALL THE DEEPS SHALL BE MINE! (Once I figure out how this Icy Veins stuff works… And Blink… and stuff.

Pokemon GO! (And More).

Here i am again… Doing the blog thing. I think I’ve posted like 2 times in the last couple weeks. Thats like DOUBLE the last 6 months at least lol.

So Pokemon Go happened. And of course, being from the generation that I am, i have of course dived straight in. Several days into the game being released we’ve seen everything from a thousand person gathering in the downtown area, to servers being down for the game for hours on end. I’ve managed to capture several of my favorite Pokemon from my childhood. Last night the fiance and I spent several hours downtown checking out the Pokemon scene and catching some Pokemon. I didn’t really catch anything astonishing, but I did catch a LOT of stuff I already had, giving me plenty of candies and dust. Shereen was surprisingly into it as well. In fact, in the entire time I’ve known her, she’s never played a game on her phone until now.

The countdown to our wedding is nearly complete. We’ve still got some errands to run and stuff to do because we’ve not been able to catch a day off together. Like our marriage license. We’ve decided to keep the ceremony and reception very small. We’ll probably be posting something on Facebook within the next day or two, because there’s going to be a lot of people who want to come that aren’t going to be able to. Shereen has already ordered her dress and is expecting it any day. I’m tabbing back and forth while writing this blog post picking from a few ideas that I have for my wedding outfit. It’s going to be un-traditional but respectful. Shereen’s dress is as beautiful as she is, and is as equally simple.

Anyways, that’s all for now. Laundry in the morning, and I’m hoping to actually do a radio show in the early evening.

It’s been awhile.

It’s been awhile since i wrote in here. I’m not exactly sure why I stopped. Maybe my posts so far and few between enabled me to forget the weight that blogging relieves from your shoulders when you get things off your mind.

I’ve been powering through some new shows (for me) on Netflix. Notably Flash, and Arrow. Of course I’ve kept up on Orange is the New Black, and Empire, and even Game of Thrones. I started with Flash, since both seasons are on Netflix now, and got hooked pretty quickly. Good cast, good story lines, all around good show. Of course about halfway through season 2 of Flash, after several cameos from Arrow, i learned that you’re supposed to watch them in a order lol. Arrow has also been just as good. Currently as I’m writing this, I’m also watching Season 3 Episode 14.

Anyways, that’s going to be it for now. I’m hoping to get back into the habit of posting more.

Drone Fun

So my brother got me an early Fathers Day present. Its a Dronium Protocol. Basicly, it’s a RC Quad Copter. It’s pretty fun. The range, and abilities it has are pretty amazing. I’ve been able to take some videos and the views are pretty stunning.

This first video is from last week, and shows some of the height I am able to achieve with it.

This second video is from last night, and has kind of an amazing story. So some storms went through these past few days, and have mostly passed. The wind has been pretty quiet from the trees on down, but its hard to gauge whats going on above that. So after work I brought it on down to the softball field next to my house and proceeded to get some video. I went pretty far up the first time around, and almost lost control of the drone, and decided to brave it again. Probably shouldn’t have made that decision. As you can see in this second video, it gets AMAZINGLY high, but I lose control. It crash lands in the golf course about 800 feet north of where i was. Luckily enough, my brother found an opening in the fence and was kind enough to squeeze through and grab it while i grabbed the car to make a quick getaway.

When it starts spinning, its because I cut the throttle because it kept climbing and couldn’t see it anymore enough to tell which way it was facing. Thus started the free fall spin, and completely ruined any idea of which way it was facing. When it it stops spinning and crash lands, it caught signal again briefly enough to stop from a full speed crash, and lands over 800 feet away. Looking on Google Maps, it landed approximately 884 feet away.

Game Of Blogs

So my last post, was about how I was going to start blogging again more. That didn’t really work out to well apparently. But this time… This time is for realz! I feel like when you get into a funk with blogging, it’s really hard to get back on track. Mostly because its just so easy to NOT do it. You forget that putting it all out there (well, most of it anyways) has this satisfying feeling of getting something off your chest.

Things have been… interesting lately. I’ve been in a bit of a funk. For various reasons i suppose. I’ve had a lot on my mind as of late. Some good, some bad.

I’ve been watching Game Of Thrones lately. I started a couple of weeks ago and have managed to become hooked on it! While I’m writing this late night blog post I’m currently on Season 3, Episode 6. It’s a very interesting show. It’s a bit on the… graphic side, but once you get past that, its got a very twisting plot that keeps you on your toes. Every time I start to think that I like a certain character, they manage kill them off!
I also have been keeping up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Glee, and of course Once Upon a Time. The season finale for the latter was sunday night, and boy what a cliffhanger it was. I won’t spoil it for anybody who hasn’t watched it yet. Agents of Shield comes on tonight so I’ll have to watch that after I get out of work. The Glee season finale is also tonight so I’ll have lots of watching to do.

My daughter turned 13 a couple weeks ago. That was really interesting to me. I’ve never really felt old, and really I still don’t but I do feel like somethings are catching up. If it wasn’t bad enough that she turned 13, she sent me a message a couple days later telling me that the boy she likes asked her out. That was a punch in the gut right there. Now I’ve got to have that conversation with her. About what’s acceptable, what’s not. Blargh!

Anyways, I suppose thats probably all for now. its well past my bed time.
